Diet High in Cholesterol

A diet for high cholesterol is often recommended by doctors to help lower the chances of developing cardiovascular diseases. Naturally, you want to avoid high cholesterol foods in a diet aimed for lowering cholesterol. Some recommendations include eating only 25% of your daily caloric intake as total fat especially avoiding trans fats and saturated fats. It is recommended that you keep your cholesterol intake below 200 mg/dL per day. They also like you to supplement at least 2 grams of plant sterols and 10 to 25 grams of soluble fiber into your diet. For your meats, you want to limit it to lean meats, fish, and other alternatives. No more than 2 egg yolks per day and ingest a low fat dairy of no more than 2 to 3 servings per day. They recommend stacking up on whole grains of at least 6 servings per day and also vegetables/fruits for 2 to 5 servings per day. If you stick closely to this diet, then you will definitely see better and healthier cholesterol levels in your blood.
